GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION
The courses the Chemistry Department is offering for the 2020-21 academic year are largely unchanged. GRADING
The 2020-21 academic year will return to a grade-based system. Students may elect to take courses P/D/F and not have them count towards the P/D/F limit. At this point, courses for the major are still required to be taken in grading mode.
Graded assignments and tests will be administered in a way that takes into account the format of a given course. Specific information regarding course grading will be provided by individual instructors.
RESEARCH
Lab capacity on campus remains extremely low. Students interested in conducting research during Fall 2020 should reach out to individual faculty mentors.
We do not yet know if Barnard’s Summer Research Institute will resume in Summer 2021.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT
If you are interested in departmental work, please contact Joanna Chisolm (jchisolm@barnard.edu). Indicate in your message the number of hours you are available to work per week. We anticipate finalizing job placements by the week of August 17th.
The peer-to-peer tutoring program is still being coordinated by the Dean's Office. If you are interested in applying to be a tutor this fall, please contact Dean Evelyn Leong (eleong@barnard.edu).
